About
HRVRC
HRVRC is a community-based 501 (c) 3 non-profit that
promotes safeguarding our farms and forests and promoting
livable communities in Hood River County. We were born in
1977 when Hood River County wanted to rezone the
agricultural upper valley into 1-unit-per-acre lots. A few
members of the community joined together to promote
"sensible growth" and through a grassroots campaign
educated voters about why turning timber lands and orchards
into second homes doesn't make sense for this valley.
Thirty years later, amidst a burgeoning housing boom,
Measure 37 and UGB expansion, HRVRC remains galvanized on
the preserving this unique valley.
Who we are
HRVRC
is composed of 11 board members, executive director and
over 300 members.

Membership
Our
members are the heart of the organization. While the board
set policy, it is our members who really make a difference
in our community. Members pay yearly dues which fund a
large majority of HRVRC's operating expenses.
